The first trailer of Django Unchained was made available on the web last June 6th 2012 and it definitely stirred some buzz from critics and audiences alike. Let’s take a look at some of the initial reviews for the trailer of Django Unchained:
Perhaps the biggest attention grabber of this whole affair is former teen heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio as an egotistical plantation owner. For all his great roles, DiCaprio has never played such a clear-cut villain, and it’s clear he’s having one hell of a time in the role of Calvin Candie, who owns slaves and uses them for prize fights to the death. Yeah, that doesn’t sound like the Leo we know, and that’s exactly why we can’t wait. – MTV.com
Needless to say: this looks to be a Tarantino creation, in every meaning of the term. – Screenrant
The sneak peek was highly praised for presenting a mixture of sharp humor and brutal violence. Empire magazine sang praises, “Harvey Weinstein just presented 7 mins of Django Unchained. Looks ace. We’re tipping Fritz the nodding horse to be a breakout star,” – Ace Showbiz
