The movie is about a boy who is searching for hope from a key that he found in his father’s belongings. His father was one of the many people who passed away on the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. Thomas Horn plays the role of Oskar Schell, a son who desperately wants to find more to his father’s death than there is. Tom Hanks is the Oskar Schell’s father Thomas Schell and is joined by Sandra Bullock who plays Oskar’s mother Linda Schell. Oskar (Horn) finds a key that belonged to his father and this brings him to search the five Burroughs to find a message that his father Thomas (Hanks) may have left. He goes to a roller coaster of emotions due to his disconnection from his mother Linda (Bullock) who is still grieving and his quest to find something that cannot be observed in the world.
