Girl In Progress is an upcoming comedy/drama film that features the lovely Eva Mendes as Grace. A single mom who must juggle work, paying the bills and an encounter with a married man Dr. Hartford played by Matthew Modine. On top of it all she has a daughter Ansiedad (Cierra Ramirez) who needs attention and is starting to ask question about growing up and the teenage years. Both women must go through a journey that will lead them to the right path in their lives. Living their life and cherishing the precious moments that they have. Girl In Progress will be featured in theaters this May 11th 2012, a timely movie that will welcome this year’s Mother’s Day celebration. Here’s an early review on why Girl In Progress is a movie to watch:
“Girl In Progress: A Timely Movie For Mothers And Daughters
The dedication of parents to their little angels spans a lifetime of continuous responsibility. The early years seem the most exhilarating. But then, comes the juvenile years! That’s when their adrenalin begins to gyrate arbitrarily demanding unquestionable attention. Adjusting to these changes instinctively draws them into the force field of opposite attractions.
It is during this cycle that young people often contend with poor-body image disorders, peer pressure, entertaining suicidal tendencies, and become unusually conscious of sexual attentions. This is when sexual aping sounds an interesting concept [No thanks, to the power of the media].
As an attempt to re-emphasize this sensitive social issue and the invaluable bond of family, comes this comedy drama “Girl In Progress.”
An archetypal fusion of “Sixteen Candles” (1984) and “Juno” (2007) , “Girl in Progress,” is the touching, yet amusing account between fledgling Ansiedad (Cierra Ramirez) and her otherwise, insensitive single mum, Grace (Eva Mendes).
When her quest for the right attention falls on deaf ears, Ansiedad is inadvertently squared up for a head-on collision with the ‘identity crisis’ wheel. The resultant outcome, of which, she barely has a clue. After all, it was her mapped out plan to venture into the unknown all along. This geeky adolescent was in desperate a haste to become an adult!
But when the strands of their selfish illusions become stretched to breaking point; would it be a one way trip with no return for Ansiedad and her Mum? Or, would they be given a second chance to learn how to enjoy the process of living, a day at a time?
“Girl in Progress,” is one uplifting movie every loving mother wouldn’t want to miss!”
