Jacki Weaver, Liana Liberato and Harrison Gilbertson star in a new horror film this October with Haunt. This new movie revolves around an introverted teenager, Ethan (Gilbertson) who makes friends with his new neighbour that recently moved in. They become romantically involved and they start exploring the haunted house Ethan’s family has unknowingly moved into. The couple then discovers a terrifying alternative dimension that will haunt them for the rest of their lives. Haunt is scheduled to be released on October 11th 2013. Written by Andrew Barrer, the story centers on a family that moves into a new home with a dark past. The introverted son (Gilbertson) becomes involved with a beautiful girl (Liberato) next door and as they begin to explore their sexual awakening, the two unwittingly invoke an alternative dimension of the house.
Weaver will play a former resident of the house who has suffered a terrible family tragedy.
Sasha Shapiro, Anton Lessine, Bill Block, Paul Hanson, Steven Schneider and Will Rowbotham are producing.
Nick Phillips and Kelly Wagner’s Revolver Picture Company is co-financing and producing Haunt with QED.
Production will begin November in Utah, making it four films that QED will be in production on this fall. Shooting began earlier this week in Atlanta on Ten, the new film from David Ayer that stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, while John Turturro’s Fading Gigolo, which stars Turturro and Woody Allen, begins lensing next week in New York. Later in the season, production will start on Are We Officially Dating? starring Zac Efron.
Since starring in Kingdom, Weaver has appeared in the Judd Apatow-produced comedy The Five-Year Engagement and booked roles in Silver Linings Playbook, David O. Russell’s latest movie that is generating awards buzz, as well the Fox Searchlight drama Stoker.

“IFC Midnight Distributes Haunt
The supernatural horror film Haunt, starring Jacki Weaver, has been picked up by IFC Midnight. Details on Haunt have been few and far between, but that will all change soon. The movie will be given a theatrical run and, looking at other recent IFC releases, we believe it will be a limited theatrical engagement, followed by a VOD and Blu-ray/DVD release.
