Get ready for a brand new film this November with Homefront. This new film is about a widowed ex-DEA agent, Phil Broker (Jason Statham) who wants to move his family to a quiet town. Although he wants to do what’s best for his daughter, he may have made a mistake when he picks the wrong town when he crosses with a band of drug traffickers led by Gator (James Franco) – the meth kingpin. Homefront also stars Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth and Frank Grillo. Check out the latest news for this new movie below:

“A Sneak Peak at Homefront

Homefront Movie Trailer Homefront‘Homefront’ director Gary Fleder gives us a sneak peek at the new action-thriller starring James Franco, Jason Statham, Winona Ryder and Kate Bosworth.

All that Jason Statham’s character wants to do in Homefront is retire to the quiet life in Louisiana. But the local thugs, including Winona Ryder and James Franco, keep bringing him back to violence. “Looking at it with the paradigm of the Western, (Franco) is the guy with the black hat on. Even the sheriff doesn’t want to mess with him,” says Fleder.

“I’ve done certain kind of roles up to now, and this is different from the usual tough guy role,” adds Statham. “In this film you get to see the lighter side of me yet there is still the tough guy element in the character.”

James Franco plays a local crime boss, Gator, who snaps his jaws at retired the retired DEA agent Jason Statham. “He’s a really scary guy without being horribly violent,” says director Gary Fleder of Franco’s character.

“He brought an interesting slice to the bad guy role,” says Jason Statham. ” He’s a great actor and didn’t go down the usual path of being a ‘scary’ villain. He has the ability to bring out the quirkiness and eerie side to this character.”

Kate Bosworth (left) plays the strung-out sister of Franco’s Gator (right), who starts the feud with Statham’s character. “Her character is somebody who peaked in high school,” says Fleder. “And now she has a kid and pushing 30. And things haven’t gone the way she wanted. And she has no silver lining, no second act.”

Winona Ryder’s character used to ride in a bike gang. “She’s no longer in that life, but it has left its scars,” says Fleder.

Fleder got lucky when he cast for the key part of Statham’s onscreen daughter. Izabela Vidovic was the first young actress to walk through his door. He continued to look, then circled back to sign Vidovic, who “instantly clicked” with Statham. “If this relationship doesn’t work, the film is not going to work,” says Fleder.

Statham had to learn horseback riding for the part. “I’m very confident around any sporting activity and learning any new skill,” he says. “I learned a bit how to gallop and move a little bit better on a horse and enjoy the challenge of it all.”
