Moonrise Kingdom Movie A New Movie Directed By Wes Anderson

Moonrise Kingdom is an upcoming comedy film directed and written by Wes Anderson with the help of Roman Coppola. Moonrise Kingdom revolves around the story of two 12 year olds who are in love with each other. These young lovers make a secret vow and decided to run away into the wilderness. The story is set in the 1960’s and is situated in an island which is off the coast of New England. The disappearance of these youngsters brews chaos and alarm in the town. Led by the Sheriff, a local search party goes in search to find the children. This of course will be the least of their problem because a violent storm is starting and the community needs to make haste to find the children and avoid any disasters that may come. The once peaceful island is now in a desperate attempt to find calmness and restore order in this trying event.

Behind The Scenes Of Moonrise Kingdom

Moonrise Kingdom features noted actors and actresses in Hollywood. To start off, the young couple are Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward. The parents of the young girl are Walt Bishop played by Bill Murray and Laura Bishop played by Frances McDormand. The sheriff of the island community is Captain Sharp (Bruce Willis) and Edward Norton plays the character of Scout Master Randy Ward. They will also be joined by others actors namely: Tilda Swinton as Social Services, Harvey Keitel as Commander Pierce, Tyler Metivier as a Bugle Boy scout and Bob Balaban as the Narrator. Moonrise Kingdom is produced by Indian Paintbrush, American Empirical Pictures, Moonrise and Scott Rudin Pictures. This film first made its debut on the 2012 Cannes Film Festival that was held on May 16th 2012. It will be part of the competition and the makers of the film have high hopes that it may bring home awards in the Film Festival. Moonrise Kingdom will then premiere in theaters in the United States on May 25th 2012 and will be released by Focus Features who bought the rights to the film. This diverse film shows a mix of comedy, drama and of course romance for all ages. It is rated PG 13 by the Motion Pictures Association of America due to some sexual scenes and smoking in the said film.

What To Expect With This New Movie by Wes Anderson, Moonrise Kingdom?

Even though Moonrise Kingdom hasn’t been shown in theaters in the country, a lot of critics have given their early reviews on this said film. Karina Longworth one of the top critics in the movie business gave her early opinion on this film. On a column she said: Set against a devastating storm, the outcome of the film’s gorgeously CGI-enhanced climactic adventure emphasizes both the ephemerality of pre-teen feelings and the ways in which our inability to go back and relive a cherished moment fossilizes it in memory. Its portrait of young love is both mature and defiantly utopian.

Christy Lemire of the Associated Press also gives viewers a little nudge on why they should watch Moonrise Kingdom. “If you love Wes Anderson, you’ll love this: The best of what he can do is vibrantly on display.”

Well we don’t have to wait for a long time because on Friday, Moonrise Kingdom will grace the silver screen and can be enjoyed by all movie fans in the country!
