My Week With Marilyn
My Week With Marilyn is a new movie hitting theaters on the 23rd of November and it is a movie about the relationship between Marilyn Monroe and Sir Laurence Olivier during the filming of their movie The Prince and the Showgirl, which came out in the year 1957. Colin Clark, an employee of Sir Laurence Olivier, documents the tense interaction between the two stars. Also, shown is the relationship between Marilyn Monroe and Colin Clark during the filming of the movie and documents a period of one week that Marilyn Monroe spent with Colin Clark while her husband Arthur Miller was away. The plot showcases Marilyn Monroe the actress and star trying to get away from her usual Hollywood routine and also the immense pressure of being the superstar she was. It deals with the old world British charm of Colin Clark coming into contact with the brash new Hollywood that was Marilyn Monroe.
The movie stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe, Eddie Redmayne as Colin Clark, Julia Ormond as Vivien Leigh, Kenneth Branagh as Sir Laurence Olivier as well as popular stars like Emma Watson and Dame Judi Dench. The movie is directed by Simon Curtis and is written by Adrian Hodges and Colin Clark (who wrote the book) and is produced by The Weinstein Company, BBC Films, Lipsync Productions, Trademark Films and the UK Film Council and the movie will hit the theaters all over on November 23, 2011.
