
People Like Us is an upcoming film debut of director Alex Kurtzman into the movie industry. People Like Us was first dubbed “Welcome to People” is going to be shown in theaters on June 29th 2012. This drama film stars: Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks and Michelle Pfeifer. As early as now People Like Us is garnering reviews and acclaims from all over the world. In Rotten Tomatoes, the film already garnered 86% fresh ratings from critics and audiences even before the film is released. People Like Us starts its journey on a man named Sam (played by Chris Pine), a fast talking twenty plus salesman who learns that his father died on the same day that his latest deal falls into pieces. Hesitant, Sam calls home to put his father’s last will in order and to once again reconnect with his estranged family. As he is putting his father’s estate in order he is taken back when he finds out that one of his final wishes is to give $150,000 to Frankie (Elizabeth Banks), his sister. All these time he didn’t know that there existed a sister he never knew about. He travels to finish his father’s last wishes and finds Frankie, his alcoholic sister and her troubled 12 year old son, Josh (Michael Hall D’Addario). In this journey Sam will come to a whole new realization on his family and the choices that he made in his own life. He will begin an adventure that will bring him home to himself and his family.
People Like Us is a great movie that composes of Chris Pine (Sam), Elizabeth Banks (Frankie, Sam’s sister), Michael Hall D’Addario (Josh, Frankie’s son), Michelle Pfeifer (as Lilian, Sam’s mother) and Olivia Wilde as Hannah. The rest of the cast is also joined by Michael Duplass, Sara Mornell and Philip Baker Hall. People Like Us is produced by DreamWorks SKG, Kurztman Orci Paper Products, Reliance Entertainment and Touchstone Productions. This film is going to be distributed by two main companies: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and Touchstone Pictures. People Like Us is given a PG 13 rating by the Motion Picture Association of America due to some brief sexuality, drug use and some language.
