Salmon Fishing In The Yemen movie is about a sheikh’s vision of bringing the sport of fish-flying to the desert. The sheikh’s consultant Harriet Chetwode-Talbot gets in touch with Britain’s top expert when it comes to fish, Dr. Alfred Jones. Harriet shares her employer’s vision of bringing fish-flying to the desert. The doctor’s initial reaction was that this project is both absurd and impossible. Although the team was brought in to the challenge when the Prime Minister’s press secretary gets hook on this story. Creating the impossible pushes the team to embark on an upstream endeavor that is based on their faith and of course fish! They must work together to create the dream to reality and prove the impossible, possible.
Salmon Fishing In The Yemen is based on a novel by Paul Torday under the same title. It is directed by Lasse Hallstrom (director of Chocolat) and is written by by Simon Beaufoy who is known for writing the screenplay of Slumdog Millionaire. Dr. Alfred Jones is played by Ewan McGregor, Harriet Chetwode-Talbot is Emily Blunt and the role for Bridget Maxwell (the Prime Minister’s press secretary) goes to Kristin Scott Thomas. The rest of the cast are also joined by other talented actors like Amr Waked, Catherin Steadman and Tom Mison. The romantic comedy film, Salmon Fishing In The Yemen is produced by: BBC Films, Kudos Film and Television and Lionsgate. It is also rated PG 13 for parents and guardians who want to make sure that the film is fit for youngsters in the family.
