All jokes aside, people aren’t sick of the Fast and Furious franchise yet. Just ask Vin Diesel, star of 2017’s Fate of the Furious and this year’s top-grossing actor.

On Tuesday Forbes reported that Diesel earned an impressive $1.6 billion in global ticketing receipts in 2017, no doubt thanks to the eighth installment of the action franchise, which topped $1.2 billion in the global box office.

Along with the Fast and Furious film Diesel also starred in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage this year.

Trailing close behind Diesel was his Fast and Furious co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, at $1.5 billion. (You may remember him from other, less successful 2017 films too, like Baywatch.

And Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot was the year’s third top-grossing actor (and top-grossing woman), bringing in an impressive $1.4 billion.

In addition to Wonder Woman, which dominated the box office — earning $100.5 million in ticket sales during its first week — Gadot also starred in Justice League.

What does all this prove? Big action films won’t be slowing down any time soon.

George Clooney is done with ‘dumbf**kery’ in this PSA

Published

“In light of the UN’s dire warning about the Earth’s accelerating extinction rate, George Clooney has stepped up for a PSA against people and their “dumbfuckery.”

“Dumbfuckery is highly contagious, affecting the minds of even the most stable geniuses,” the actor joked on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night.

Focusing his attention on climate change, vaccinations, and the dinosaurs, it’s the kind of reminder that we shouldn’t need — but unfortunately do.”

Barbra Streisand And Kris Kristofferson Have ‘A Star Is Born’ Reunion

Published

They’re evergreen in their own way, and they still rock.

Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, co-stars in the 1976 version of “A Star Is Born,” reunited and Babs posted the photo evidence on Wednesday with a hint at something to come.

“It was so wonderful to see my friend Kris who stopped by yesterday. Stay tuned…” Streisand wrote.

Streisand, now 76, played aspiring singer Esther Hoffman, and Kristofferson, 82, was John Norman Howard, the has-been rocker who falls for her.

Like her 2018 “A Star Is Born” counterpart Lady Gaga, who took home the Oscar in February for best original song with “Shallow,” Streisand won in the same category with “Evergreen.”

Streisand and Kristofferson have reunited from time to time, E! News pointed out. They co-presented at the 2011 Grammy Awards, and they appeared together in 2013 at the Chaplin Award Gala honoring Streisand.

Like the song says, two lights that shine as one.

“Lady Gaga is an Academy Award winner, folks.

The best song of the year, “Shallow” from A Star Is Born, earned Lady Gaga an Oscar at the 91st Academy Awards on Sunday night, marking the first time the music legend has earned an Oscar. She shared the honor with co-writers Mark Daniel Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt.

I mean, come on, listen to this:

“I worked hard for a long time and it’s not about winning, but what’s about is not giving up,” Lady Gaga said in her acceptance speech. “If you have a dream, fight for it.”

Lady Gaga is also up for the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in A Star Is Born, the first person to ever be nominated for both awards on the same night. Earlier in February, Lady Gaga was nominated for four Grammys for the song “Shallow” and won two.

A Star Is Born was up for eight awards in total at the Oscars, and the award for Best Original Song was the film’s first of the night.

Lady Gaga received her first and only other Oscar nomination in 2016 for the song, “Til It Happens to You,” for the documentary The Hunting Ground.”
