“YouTube star Lilly Singh only left the platform in November, but she’s already got a new stage.

The Indian-Canadian YouTuber, actress, and author known as IISuperwomanII will take over the late night NBC slot held by Carson Daly, whose show Last Call is wrapping up after 17 years.

Singh’s show will be called A Little Late with Lilly Singh, airing weekdays at 1:35 a.m., after Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show and Seth Meyers’ Late Night, from September 2019.

She announced the news on Thursday during an interview with now-fellow NBC late nighter Fallon.

‘An Indian-Canadian woman with her own late night show? Now that is a dream come true,” Singh told Fallon. “I’m thrilled to bring it to life on NBC, and I hope my parents consider this to be as exciting as a grandchild.’

Patton Oswalt’s new Marvel series sounds both ridiculous and awesome

“As you can tell from the interview above, Patton Oswalt is a pretty big Marvel fan.

And nowadays he’s part of the Marvel family, too. On Wednesday’s edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Oswalt described a new animated Disney series he’s working on based on a supervillain called MODOK (that stands for Mobile/Mechanised Organism Designed Only for Killing, in case you were wondering).

“He’s just like this weird, giant genius head,” explains Oswalt, “with of course a forehead laser, as you have.”

Frankly we can’t wait.”

“We’ve already seen it in a heavily stylized promo shot, but the CW debuted Ruby Rose’s Batwoman look in this short teaser for the upcoming series.

Don’t expect much in the way of early looks at the stories will be told. This 30-second snippet is more about setting the mood, starting with a slow pan up the side of a building, a fluttering cape, and a quick look at the iconic Bat Signal.

Then we see our hero turn and face the camera and… boom. Meet Batwoman. We don’t know when she’ll be here, but the teaser promises that she’s “coming soon.”

Will Smith previews his version of ‘Aladdin’ classic ‘Friend Like Me’

Published

“It’s the moment Disney fans are waiting for, and one many are coming at with eyebrows raised — Will Smith’s version of “Friend Like Me.”

The star of the new live action Aladdin takes on the coveted role of the Genie, one immortalised by the late great Robin Williams.

“Robin Williams smashed that role,” Smith told Jimmy Fallon on Monday night, and that Smith himself originally didn’t want to touch the role. “Hell no,” he said, when first asked. And fair enough, people have had their eyes critically fixed on any Genie footage of Smith from square one.

Nonetheless, what pushed him over the line? Messing around with “Friend Like Me,” Smith had the team run the drum beat of The Honey Drippers’ 1973 track “Impeach The President” on top.

He gave Fallon a little preview, and while no one can ever really hold a flame to Williams’ version, but Smith’s version is undeniably his.

Aladdin opens May 24.”
